I am Professor of Skin Integrity at the University of Huddersfield, Yorkshire in the UK, Visiting Professor at both Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia and the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin. Additionally, I am elected chair for the International Wound Infection Institute, Vice President of the International Surgical Wounds Complications Advisory Panel and Director (Europe) of the International Skin Tears Advisory Panel. Throughout my career I have maintained an active research interest in skin integrity and infection prevention both in clinical practice and academia that has culminated in the formation of the Institute of Skin Integrity and Infection Prevention (ISIaIP) for which I am Director. I have dedicated a significant amount of my time to developing and fostering strong international collaborative links with clinical practitioners, academia and industry. My specialist areas of interest include tissue viability, wound management, infection prevention and management of skin tears. The growing importance of Antimicrobial Resistance and Antimicrobial Stewardship has become a priority for all healthcare providers and as such I have facilitated and developed a module in conjunction with the European Wound Management Association and the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy hosted by Future Learn: https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/antimicrobial-stewardship-in-wound-management
